Kate Coffey has been married to James for five years. She is extremely supportive of her husband’s entrepreneurial qualities and supports his risky new venture, opening a restaurant in the middle of an economic downturn. Kate has been able to assist and work alongside her husband in creating the new business as she has an enviable background in business and management. She graduated from the University of Ireland Maynooth with an Honours Degree in Business and Management and has gained work experience in high profile businesses such as Bank of America, KPMG, Aviva and Enterprise Ireland. The experience she gained in these industries has been priceless and have become the reason she is a motivated and driven business woman today.
After Christmas of this year, Kate left a steady job as retail manager for Tesco Ireland, based in Dublin. She was excited about her husband’s new venture and wished to help him succeed. This seemed like an extremely foolish idea to everyone around her and while she admits that it was “risky” she felt running a business that her husband created would be an exciting and different adventure. She explained that she liked the idea of having a more diverse role in a business setting. Kate is now the business manager of “The Coffee House” and is currently helping her husband with the final stages of setting up the restaurant as well as recruiting staff members and organising successful advertising of the up and coming business. Kate is looking forward to this new business venture, and has bright ideas for the future of “The Coffee House”.
